How can you Monitor Home Security Systems by your iPhone?

Apple's iPhone is more than just a phone and MP3 player. It also provides users with a constant connection by using both a 3G network and Wi-Fi networks, meaning you can check your email, surf the web and perform a variety of tasks. Most of these tasks are accomplished with applications that are available on the iTunes App Store. Several free apps in the store even give you the ability to monitor your home security system from your iPhone wherever you are.

 Alarm

Step I: Browse the Alarm app page from the App Store. "Alarm" allows you to arm and disarm your alarm system from your iPhone, watch video from your security cameras, and see when doors and windows have been opened and closed.
Step II: Click "View in iTunes," then click "Free App" when iTunes opens. Enter your iTunes password and click "Get."
Step III: Connect your iPhone to your computer with its USB connector. Click on your iPhone under "Devices" in iTunes, then click the "Apps" tab. Check "Alarm" on the list of apps, and click "Apply." Alarm will be uploaded to your iPhone, allowing you to monitor your home security system.

Platinum Protection

Step IV: Go to the Platinum Protection app page in the App Store. This app is specifically for those with a Platinum Interactive security monitoring account at home, and allows you to arm and disarm your system and monitor activities in your house.
Step V: Click "View in iTunes," then click "Free App" when iTunes opens. Enter your iTunes password and click "Get."
Step VI: Connect your iPhone to your computer with its USB connector. Click on your iPhone under "Devices" in iTunes, then click the "Apps" tab. Check "Platinum Protection" on the list of apps, and click "Apply." Alarm will be uploaded to your iPhone, allowing you to monitor your home security system.

CPI Security inTouch

Step VII: Go to the CPI Security inTouch app page in the App Store. CPI Security in touch is specifically for those with CPI Security and allows you to arm and disarm your system and see what doors and windows have been opened and when.
Step VIII: Click "View in iTunes," then click "Free App" when iTunes opens. Enter your iTunes password and click "Get."
Step IX: Connect your iPhone to your computer with its USB connector. Click on your iPhone under "Devices" in iTunes, then click the "Apps" tab. Check "CPI Security inTouch" on the list of apps, and click "Apply." Alarm will be uploaded to your iPhone, allowing you to monitor your home security system.
